چکیده

Background: Numerous studies have investigated emotion in virtual reality (VR) experiences using self-reported data order to understand valence and arousal dimensions of emotion. Objective physiological concerning has been less explored. Electroencephalography (EEG) can be used examine correlates emotional responses such as environments. Used across varying fields research, images are able elicit a range affective from viewers. In this study, we display image sequences with annotated values on screen within theater environment. Understanding how brain activity related stimuli known ratings may contribute better understanding processing reality. Methods: We frontal alpha asymmetry (FAA) previously ratings. Twenty-four participants viewed VR while their was recorded. Participants wore the Oculus Quest headset immersed Results: Image higher elicited greater FAA scores than lower ( F [1, 23] = 4.631, p 0.042), low 7.143, 0.014). The effect power did not reach statistical significance 4.170, 0.053). determined that only high valence, sequence which significantly recorded during baseline t [23] −3.166, 0.002), suggesting most salient for participants. Conclusion: lead experiences. While findings suggest useful associations between environments, additional research individual differences informative development scenarios.

From Image Sequence to Virtual Reality

This paper presents a way to explore a 3D scene deened by 2D views : given some 2D views of the same scene, which we call reference views, we want the user to be able to move a virtual camera, so as to generate any other view of the scene, and carry out a virtual visit of the scene. We will show how we applied the trilinear relations stated by Sha 94] to this so-called transfer problem. This ap...

Predicting affective responses to exercise using resting EEG frontal asymmetry: does intensity matter?

Affective responses to exercise may be important for improving adherence to regular programs of exercise. The present study sought to determine whether resting frontal EEG asymmetry, an individual difference measure of affective style, is predictive of affective responses to exercise performed at distinct intensities standardized relative to a metabolic landmark (i.e., the ventilatory threshold...

The validity of individual frontal alpha asymmetry EEG neurofeedback.

Frontal asymmetry in alpha oscillations is assumed to be associated with psychopathology and individual differences in emotional responding. Brain-activity-based feedback is a promising tool for the modulation of cortical activity. Here, we validated a neurofeedback protocol designed to change relative frontal asymmetry based on individual alpha peak frequencies, including real-time average ref...

The comparison of alpha power, peak alpha frequency, frontal alpha asymmetry between irritable bowel syndrome and healthy people

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a chronic functional gastrointestinal disorder that is characterized by abdominal pain or discomfort and changed intestinal habits. The aim of This study was the comparison of features of brain oscillations in alpha frequency band by using rest-electroencephalography (EEG) between patients with IBS and healthy control. 11 IBS patients (7 female and 4 male) and ...

Integrating TAM with EEG Frontal Asymmetry

Recent evolution in the Information Systems (IS) community has involved neuroscience tools and methods in order to develop new theories concerning Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and further understand IS acceptance models. Thus, the field of NeuroIS has emerged. Moreover, NeuroIS researchers have proposed encephalograph (EEG) as valuable usability metric. Particularly, EEG frontal asymmetry h...
